The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 places 10 individuals in a “backer’s audition” in a wealthy suburb of New York. In truth, the reason they are gathered is because most of them have a connection to a failed Broadway musical, “Manhattan Holiday”, where a mysterious killer known as the Stage Door Slasher murdered several female dancers years ago. Michael Kelly, a member of the NYPD, and Elsa von Grossenkneuten, the owner of the house and friend of one of the murdered dancers, are the only two who know the real reason for the fake audition.
As the night goes on, and as several members of the cast disappear, it’s obvious that someone in the house is not who they claim to be…
